Children's Ministry

PURPOSE
The purpose of our children's ministry is to partner with parents in faithfully teaching God's Word to their children so that, by the work of the Holy Spirit, they might come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and be firmly rooted in the faith.

NURSERY (birth to 24 months)
The Infant nursery ministers to the family by giving a safe and nurturing environment for newborns through children up to 24 months old. We desire to provide parents with the assurance their child is being well cared for so they can join in worship and teaching. This will give them the opportunity to grow in their walk with the Lord, which will set the tone for interacting with their child throughout the week.

Nursery care is provided during both Sunday morning worship services, Sunday School and Sunday evening services (the fourth Sunday of the month at 5:00 pm). There is a secure check-in and check-out procedure that gives assurance the child is safe and the parent(s) can be reached if needed. If it appears the child is unable to stay in the nursery, there is a designated room where a parent may sit with the child and view the service.

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL (2 years old through 5th grade)
Sunday School classes are offered for children from two years of age through fifth grade during both services.

AWANA
Awana is an international, Bible-based program that wants to see all children and youth throughout the world come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

At NCBC, we offer Cubbies (preschool/age 3 & 4 boys and girls), Sparks (boys and girls in kindergarten - second grade), T&T for boys (third - fifth grade), and T&T for girls (third - fifth grade). Our clubs meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:15, and each week each club rotates through game time, handbook time, and a teaching time with a focus on Bible memorization. Clubs are scheduled for 28 weeks from September to the end of April.

Weekly dues are 75 cents a week or $20 for the club year.

The 2016/17 club year starts on Wednesday, September 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Our AWANA Commander is Wayne Gullickson and the club secretary is Cheryl Graci. The individual club directors are Margaret Rhodes (Cubbies), Sandy Martin (Sparks), Shannon Swanson (T&T Girls), and Saul Godoy (T&T Boys).
