Our children's ministry partners with parents in faithfully teaching God's Word to their children so that, by the work of the Holy Spirit, they might come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and be firmly rooted in the faith.
NURSERY (birth to 18 months)
The Infant nursery ministers to the family by giving a safe and nurturing environment for newborns through children up to 18 months old. We desire to provide parents with the assurance their child is being well cared for so they can join in worship and teaching. This gives them the opportunity to grow in their walk with the Lord, which sets the tone for interacting with their child throughout the week.
Nursery care is provided during both Sunday morning worship services. A secure check-in and check-out procedure gives assurance your child is safe and that parents can be reached if needed. If a child appears unable to stay in the nursery, a parent may sit with the child and view the service from a designated room.
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL
There are classes for children 18 months old up through those in 5th grade during both services.
The only exception to this is whenever there is a fifth Sunday during a month. On those Sundays, children 5 years old up through those in 5th grade attend a church service with their family. Worship bags will be available at the Information Desk in the foyer for those families who wish to use them. These bags are designed to help the children focus on the worship and the sermon, and to also foster family conversations after church is over.
Awana is an international Bible-based program that wants to see all children and youth throughout the world come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. The acronym AWANA is from the first letters of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" in 2 Timothy 2:15.
At NCBC, we offer Cubbies (preschool/age 3 & 4 boys and girls), Sparks (boys and girls in kindergarten - second grade), T&T for boys (third - fifth grade), and T&T for girls (third - fifth grade). Our clubs meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:15 p.m. Each week, each club rotates through game time, handbook time, and a teaching time with a focus on Bible memorization. Clubs are scheduled for 28 weeks from September to the end of April.
The 2018/19 club year starts Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m.
Pre-registration isn't mandatory, but is helpful.
Our AWANA Commander is Wayne Gullickson and the club secretary is Cheryl Graci. The directors are:
Cubbies - Sheri Strange
Sparks - Sandy Martin
T&T Girls - Lexi Lewis
