Discipleship Training

The Christian life begins with and is nourished by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Knowledge of and trust in the gospel lead to gospel-shaped beliefs and behaviors (Col. 1:9-14). This is why we want to continue to grow in our understanding of the gospel and its implications for every area of our lives. As the apostle Paul says in Colossians 1:28, we want to “proclaim [Christ], warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” This is our passion as a church and this is what our Discipleship Training is all about.

Below is a list of upcoming events.

Who is Jesus and what has he done? What does it mean to be chosen by God? What are the blessings of our union with Christ? Join us for a 6-week class that focuses on unpacking the Bible’s teaching on Christ and the doctrines of salvation. This class is taught by the elders and is held on Sunday mornings at the church from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM January 16th, 23rd, 30th and February 6th, 13th and 20th. This is a great class for all adults and students (6th grade on up) who are interested in growing in their understanding and love for God and his sovereign grace.

Missional Engagement

A theological and practical course on pre-evangelism. As Christians, we want to help everyone take the next step toward Christ. However, not everyone we meet is ready to hear the gospel. What is needed is pre-evangelism. Pre-evangelism is wisely and winsomely engaging with unbelievers with the goal of helping them move to a position where they are open to hearing the gospel message. This 5-week class will be taught by Patrick Havens and will be held on Sunday mornings at the church from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM March 6, 13, 20, 27, and April 3. This is a great class for all adults and students (6th grade on up) who are interested in learning how to lovingly engage those around them for the sake of Christ.

Hope Explored

This is a great opportunity  to invite your non-Christian friends to attend with you. Hope Explored looks at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel. This 3-week series shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about the present. These three classes are a safe place for doubters. There will be dinner, short teaching by video, and interactive discussion led by Pastor Patrick Havens. Pray now about inviting someone to join us on Tuesday evenings April 19, 26, and May 3 from 6:30-8:00 PM. It starts on the first Tuesday evening after Easter and will serve as a great next step for those wanting to further explore the hope that can be found in Jesus Christ. Learn more about Hope Explored.
