Dan Leeper, Lead Pastor

Areas of focus: Leadership, Preaching, Worship

Dan became the Lead Pastor of our church in June of 2023. He provides leadership for our staff and elders, serves on our preaching team by preaching approximately 1/3 of the Sundays, leads our worship ministry on Sunday mornings, and shares in the general shepherding of the church. Dan joined the pastoral team in February of 2012. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City, MO. He has an M.Div. from Heart of America Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Holly, have three sons. Dan loves hanging out with his family, playing volleyball, hunting, fishing, and pretty much anything outside.

Patrick Havens, Pastor 

Areas of focus: Mission and Equipping

Patrick oversees Global Impact, Local Impact, and our Grow ministries for adults that aim to establish and equip our church members. He also serves on our preaching team. Patrick joined the pastoral staff in 2016 after living in Morocco, North Africa, for over nine years. Patrick and his wife, Alicia, have five kids. Patrick received his MDiv from Trinity International University and earned the Foundations of Biblical Counseling Certificate from CCEF. They enjoy hospitality, hearing people’s stories, and engaging with those skeptical about Jesus.

David Sunday, Teaching Pastor

Area of Focus: Preaching Team

Having served as the founding lead pastor, David now serves our church as a part-time Teaching Pastor. He preaches approximately 1/3 of the Sundays and provides leadership for our preaching team. David also serves as the President of a global ministry training pastors around the world called WordPartners. He is married to Kate and and they take delight in their three adult children, their spouses, and their granddaughter. He enjoys running and biking along the Fox River Trail, reading literature and biographies, and eating good meals with lots of laughter among friends. David has a B.A. from Moody Bible Institute, an M.A. from Wheaton College, an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a D.Min. in Preaching from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

Tracy Holloway, Children’s Ministry Director

Tracy oversees all aspects of New Covenant Kids which includes recruiting, equipping, evaluating and encouraging many volunteers and the programs they bring to families. Tracy and her family have been attending New Covenant since 2011. Since graduating from the University of Illinois with an Elementary Education degree, Tracy has been involved in education in some way or another for over 25 years as a public school classroom teacher, Christian school classroom teacher, homeschool co-op teacher, youth leader and Sunday school teacher. Her husband, Mark, and three daughters, Allison, Cora and Katie consistently support and patiently listen when she shares with them what she has been learning. Tracy never wants to stop learning about God or the amazing world he has created!

Holly Leeper, Administrative Assistant

Holly primarily assists the pastors and ministry leaders with various administrative tasks and oversees communications at NCBC since joining the staff in 2019. Holly was born in South Bend, IN and has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a minor in music. She enjoys serving with her husband, Dan, on the Worship Team on Sunday mornings and with Crossroads Kids Club during the school year. In her free time, she loves going on bike rides, learning music, reading books, watching her three boys play sports, and spending time with her family.

Donna Strand, Business Administrator

Donna manages the church financials and facility, and provides ministry and staff assistance as needed. She has been a member of New Covenant since its inception in 2010. Donna is married to Kevin and they have four adult children and four adorable grandsons! In her free time, Donna enjoys watching football, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with her grandsons.
