Service opportunities

  • Operate audio and video equipment during services
  • Commitment: monthly rotation
Building projects
  • Help with building improvement projects
  • Commitment varies by task and your availability
Children's Ministry teacher or aide
  • Teach or assist during Sunday morning services 
  • Commitment: Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
Crossroads Kids Club
  • Attend church-led after school faith-based kids club for public school elementary students
  • Lead or assist in a small group, run gametime, teach group lesson
  • Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly on Tuesdays (St. Charles) or Thursdays (Elgin) during the school year
Friendship Class
  • A rewarding opportunity to NCBC members to encourage and minister to our special needs adults
  • Commitment: 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month between September through June
  • Welcome people in the lobby before and after services and be available to answer questions
  • Commitment: full month rotation
Lazarus House
  • Prepare dinner for Lazarus House homeless shelter in St. Charles once per month
  • Volunteer needed to sleep at Lazarus House that night (9:30 PM-6:45 AM) to be the on-call volunteer for overnight staff.
  • Provide childcare for infants during Sunday morning services
  • Commitment: monthly
  • Monitor building during church services
  • Training provided
  • Commitment:  Every 2 weeks
  • Technical support (projectors, etc)
  • Training provided
  • Commitment: Serve on monthly rotation from 8:30 AM until any issues are resolved through the start of the 10:45 AM service.
  • Usher 30 minutes prior to service
  • Commitment: twice per month during 9:00 AM or 10:45 AM service
Worship Team
  • Participate on the Worship Team on Sunday Mornings
  • Attend rehearsals
